What a pleasure to welcome not one, but TWO fabulous musicians to kick off the third annual Northfield Gypsy Jazz Jam Series. Multi-instrumentalist, Mark Kreitzer, and accordionist, Dan "Daddy Squeeze" Newton, will lead our first jam session, bringing new sounds and songs to the mix. Many of you will know Mark from past jam sessions, as Carleton College's Instructor in Guitar and American Folk Instruments and as the leader of the Mark Kreitzer Band and the '53 Swingbillies. In addition to a successful solo career, Dan Newton is known as the leader of the Cafe Accordion Orchestra (now in its 20th year!), Jumbo Ya-Ya, famed trio Donahue, Newton and Raynor as well as many other well-known Twin Cities bands. Both Mark and Dan have made immense contributions to the Twin Cities music scene, we're proud to now welcome them both to Northfield!
About the Northfield Gypsy Jazz Jam Series:
All jam series sessions start off with a few tunes to highlight our guests, then roll into an open jam session with charts projected on the wall so everyone can play along. All instruments are welcome, no experience necessary. Join in the jam, or just come to listen!
